As an Artist I have always been amazed with the work of Caravaggio. The extreme lighting effects and dramatic expressions rendered in facial expressions have a wonderful theatrical curiosity. I set myself a goal to copy 3 of my favourite Caravaggio´s.

The arrest of Yeshua (Jesus) was a pivotal event in Christianity. Shortly after the Last Supper ,Christ and his followers go to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. Judas makes a deal with the chief priests to betray Christ and this is the exact moment of the kiss when Temple Guards of the Sanhedrin apprehend Christ. Each face has a different expression; the poignant knowing of Christ, the subtle two faced facade of Judas, the alarm of the apostle fleeing from the left hand corner and the aggression of the guards moving into the frame…

Doubting Thomas
After his death and resurrection, Yeshua (Jesus) appears to many of His followers. Thomas refuses to believe that He had indeed rose from the dead and says : “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my fingers where the nails were , and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” (John 20:25 ) Christ appears and indeed Thomas is encouraged to quell his doubts by doing just so. This scripture finishes with a word from Yeshua : “Because you have seen me ,you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
